The Latin American, Caribbean & Iberian Studies Program (LACIS) is an interdisciplinary program, offering over 250 courses in 45 different departments including two less commonly taught languages - Yucatec Maya and Ecuadorian Quichua. We operate in consortium with the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at UW-Milwaukee and collaboratively and independently provide opportunities for outreach to the community. The LACIS region consists of: Latin America, the Caribbean and the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal). We "share" the Iberian Peninsula with the Center for European Studies.
Sarah Ripp has been working with LACIS since January 2008. She has a B.A. in International Studies with minors in Latin American Studies & Spanish and an M.A. in International Administration with concentrations in Human Rights & International Law, from the University of Denver's Josef Korbel Graduate School of International Studies. Please visit our web site for more information about our outreach activities and special opportunities for educators.
