Education Policy
Fellowship Program's (EPFP) 2007 China Study Tour, October 18-28,
2007
This unique journey
is designed for individuals who have a strong interest in the nexus
of globalization, education policy, and economics. The 2007 China
Study Tour will offer extraordinary access to education institutions,
cultural and historic sites, government and business leaders, and
economic venues. EPFP would like to include people from a wide range
of organizations and backgrounds in this remarkable travel experience
including some P-20 educators, business people, undergraduate and
graduate students, and other citizens of Wisconsin.
Michigan State University
Distinguished Professor Yong Zhao, Director of the US-China Center
for Research on Educational Excellence, and Director of the Confucius
Institute at MSU, will lead an online pre-trip orientation and conduct
a briefing session for participants during the Study Tour itself.
(Recommended readings and cultural literacy will be crucial features
of the pre-trip preparations.) Both an interpreter and guide (native
Chinese) will accompany the group during the entire tour. Lodging
will be at luxury hotels. Lodging, two in-country flights (from Beijing
to Xian and from Xian to Shanghai), air conditioned motor coach travel
throughout the trip, entrance fees to cultural sites, and all but
three meals are included in the $2,995 cost (double occupancy) for
the trip. Airfare from the U.S. to China and back is additional and
will be booked through a central travel agent to obtain reasonable
prices and ensure departure and arrival times consistent with the
itinerary.
Please check out the
wealth of information available about the 2007 China Study Tour at:
