Welcome!
WIOC is an abbreviation for the Wisconsin International Outreach Consortium. WIOC's mission is to share resources and to collaboratively support international education and global awareness.
WIOC provides resources and expertise on world areas to K-12 teachers, post-secondary educators, businesses, the media, and the community at large. Some upcoming events include:
- WIOC is a proud sponsor of the 2008 Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies and International Education Conference to be held in Madison, 31 March - 1 April 2008. Registration includes 100+ sessions, keynoters, exhibits, continental breakfasts, plated lunches, and free parking. 1-Day Conference: $100, Student $35 and 2-day Conference: $150, Students $60.
- A WIOC brochure is now available in PDF format for priniting and distribution. Click here to load a copy of the new brochure in your browser - to print or save for printing. We would also be happy to mail you as many copies as you might need.
- Links of interest to K-12 educators (and others!!) exploring options to internationalize the curriculum and themselves.
- WIOC strives to put the Wisconsin Idea in Action. To learn more about what the UW does to work with communities statewide visit the website; to learn more how WIOC and its member programs can assist you, email us with your questions or suggestions.

- The 6th Annual International Children's and Young Adult Literature Celebration was held on November 17, 2007 at the UW-Milwaukee.
- WIOC member centers offered a week-long summer teacher workshop on Children in Conflict: War, Work, and Human Rights (Summer 2007).
- WIOC also coordinated the Beyond the Headlines II: Exploring the People and Cultures, a MMSD Professional Development course (Spring 2007).
